Hard to believe our week in Honduras has come to a close.  After our goodbyes to our Honduran hosts, we left the Mission House around 9:00am for our 90 minute drive to the airport.  Once we arrived at the airport we checked our luggage, filled out our immigration paperwork and had to shop for any last minute Honduran gifts.

By this time we were hungry so we got our lunch at Wendy's.  Yes, just like the Wendy's we have in the USA. Our table was shared with three gentlemen.  Don't know their names, but one has lived in San Pedro Sula for 18 years and started a church in Comayagua.  Another gentlemen has lived in the area for 12 years.  He was excited to head back to Georgia today to meet his brand new grandson.  The third gentlemen was from Indiana and was there visiting the church and pastor in Comayagua.  It's amazing how small out world is when we travel.

Each of us received a text message early this morning that they were looking for individuals to give up their seat due to overbooking.  Since we had over three hours in Miami, we took American Airlines up on the offer.  Our flight from Honduras left right on time and was very smooth up to Miami.  It didn't matter which airport we had a long lay over in, a layover is a layover!! All four of us were "accepted" to give up our seats.  Of course, a small voucher was included in this. 😊

Rather than leaving Honduras at 1:30ish, we left at 4:00 getting into Miami at 7:30pm.  Here we had to go through customs which was a breeze.  Where it got a little interesting is we only had 2 1/2 hours to go through customs and get to our next gate.  We came in on the E terminal had to go to the D terminal.  Doesn't sound like much but it was a hike.  While standing in the custom line, Marlene and I were chatting about having a connecting flight.  Before long a gentlemen came to me and said to go with "this man."  All four of us followed this guy who escorted us to another gate where there was basically no line.  We zipped through security and got to our gate with about 40 minutes to spare.  This gave us time to grab a little something for supper.  We left Miami on time arriving in Baltimore about 30 minutes early.

After picking up my car at the Gearhart's, Marlene and I headed home.  I finally got home at 4:30am.  What a great trip.

Thanks again for all the prayers while we were gone.  It is good to be back home but I must admit I'm ready to go again.

Love to you all,
Carol
